Playdough Recipe
Playing with playdough, can be very enjoyable for all children. Most children
have lots of toys but nothing compares to Play Doh. You can roll
snakes and balls or rolled flat and cut into shapes with cookie
cutters. You can also use a plastic knife and cut the playdough
into any shape you can imagine. If you have the original playdough
accessories they can be used as well.
Below is an easy homemade play dough recipe that uses Koolaid to
color it and make it scented. I have heard of other recipes that
use chocolate, jello or peanut butter instead. This basically
makes them edible. There is nothing toxic in this recipe
but I don't think I would want to eat it.
Some recipes can be made in the microwave, others are no cook
or uncooked. It is not actually cooked, it is more for mixing the
ingredients together.
Play Dough is always a fun way to entertain your kids. It was one
of my favorite toys. They can make so many things with it. There are
a few ways how to make it from scratch.
Combine all ingredients (except the flour) in a sauce pan and heat
until warm. Remove from the heat and add the flour. Stir then knead
until smooth.
Important Note: Make sure you use the cream of tartar as it makes
the dough long lasting (up to 6 months or longer) It should be stored
in a plastic bag or airtight container.
PlayDough Recipe with Kool-Aid:
2 cups of flour
1 cup salt
2 packages dry unsweetened Kool-Aid
2 cups boiling water
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Mix all the dry ingredients together and all the liquid ingredients
together. Then pour the liquids over the the dry. Stir the mixture
until it forms a ball. As it cools it will become less sticky. After
it has cooled knead it until it is smooth.
Some of the cheapest toys offer the most fun so if you should see
